Fried Snack Lines

Continuous forming, frying and flavouring for tortilla chips, nachos and extruded fried snacks.

Overview

Our fried snack lines integrate forming, frying, de-oiling, flavouring and cooling into one continuous, repeatable process. Using extrusion and forming technology together with shaped dies, the line produces tortilla chips, nachos, 3D pellets, waved and shaped chips and similar fried snacks with consistent shape, weight and texture.

The line is available at several capacity levels and can be configured for electric, gas, diesel or steam heating to suit your plant and local energy costs.

What You Can Produce

How the Line Works

  1. Mixing — flour and starch are mixed with water and ingredients.
  2. Conveying — the mix is conveyed to the extruder.
  3. Extruding & forming — twin-screw extrusion with shaped dies forms the product.
  4. Cutting — a compound cutter produces the final shape.
  5. Frying — continuous fryer cooks and crisps the product.
  6. De-oiling — excess oil is removed.
  7. Flavouring — a double-drum flavourer applies seasoning evenly.
  8. Cooling & packaging — the product is cooled and packed.
